Bouquet tying skills demonstration by Lee Ngo, a Floristry WSQ Graduate employed by Tropifame Floral.
Lee Ngo’s background was in hair and beauty, as well as fashion retail. She chanced upon Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA)’s Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) programme in the papers, took up the course and has since been doing well. Today, she continues to upgrade herself with full support from her employer.
Chiew Fong, a Floristry WSQ Graduate demonstrating her best skills learnt.
Chiew Fong is employed by Far East Flora. She was working as an administrator in a floral landscape company before taking the bold step to pick up skills to create beautiful floral arrangements. She hopes to use her acquired skills to start a home-based floral business one day.
Margaret Huang, a Floristry WSQ Graduate employed by June Floral, using bright red roses for her floral arrangement.
Margaret started off with no background in floristry. A homemaker for six years, she picked up her courage, took up the Floristry WSQ course and has now become a professional florist and trainer.

A success story – Jasmine Lee, through WDA’s Floristry WSQ course, was offered part-time employment by Noel upon her graduation. Previously, she worked as a technician but stopped working after the birth of her second child to look after her family.
Bernadette Kwan, General Manager of Noel, a hiring employer of the Floristry WSQ Skills Pack. WSQ Skills Pack is developed by WDA under the Floristry WSQ Framework.
She has this to share with the talented floristry workforce,” We will continue to send our employees to further Floristry WSQ training. Training is a good motivator for them as it helps recognise their individual contributions and enhance their future career progression through skills upgrading. Continuing education and training is a key priority to us.”
Margaret (June Floral), Chantel and Bernadette (Noel) are all smiles with the hard work and effort put into the floristry industry.
